This past week Dani was enjoying a rare moment by herself in our house when she accidentally spilled some wine on the floor. Being the beautiful and creative person that she is, before cleaning it up she decided to take a picture of it(not the one on this post). When I got home she showed me the picture with a mix of joy and sadness. Sadness for spilling the wine and joy for taking a nice shot of it(she loves to take pictures). As I looked at the spilled red wine on the floor the first thought that came to my mind was: “His blood was shed for me.” Instantaneously my mind took me to the moment of the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus. My heart ached as I saw Him there, nailed to the cross. I looked and saw the blood, running down the cross. It was red, red as wine. Then My mind took me to moments before, when He said to His disciples,”This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” Dani asked me, “What is it?” I said, “What?” She looked at me with a curious smile, “For a moment you were not here anymore, what were you thinking?” Then I told her about my thoughts, and in a second she was taken there too, to the Cross. The blood of Christ is the most precious element in the universe. It has the power to change our lives and destinies. May your life and your day be covered and blessed by the blood of Jesus, today and forever. Amem.

Our home group

In 2008 God spoke to us and gave us a vision: Thousands of people saved and passionate for God. It took us two years of preparation in prayer and finally the time has come to put the seed on the ground. We have started our prayer group in our home since last March. In our meetings we have had intense times of worship followed by prayer and communion. It brings a lot of joy to our hearts to see people being strengthened in the Lord Jesus by the Holy Spirit through a relationship with the Father.

Last Sunday Fernando came to spend the weekend with us. We shared with him about our plans of renting him a place near us and how we would like to have him move over here asap. He is very excited about this and is getting ready to move closer to us. Fernando is still very feminine in the way he talks, walks, etc. He will need a lot of help.

Our prayer needs:

- Please pray that we will find an apartment for Fernando near our home;

- Pray that we can find a good psychologist to help Fernando overcome his feminine manners;

- Please pray for our meetings, for God’s presence to come and change us more and more into His likeness;

Noah’s Ark found?

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say wooden remains they have discovered on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey are the remains of Noah’s Ark.

The group claims that carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old, meaning they date to around the same time the ark was said to be afloat. Mt. Ararat has long been suspected as the final resting place of the craft by evangelicals and literalists hoping to validate biblical stories.

Yeung Wing-Cheung, from the Noah’s Ark International Ministries research team that made the discovery, said: “It’s not 100 percent that it is Noah’s Ark, but we think it is 99.9 percent that this is it.”

There have been several reported discoveries of the remains of Noah’s Ark over the years, most notably a find by archaeologist Ron Wyatt in 1987. At the time, the Turkish government officially declared a national park around his find, a boat-shaped object stretched across the mountains of Ararat.

After the storm…

Things are finally coming back to normal to most people. After almost a whole week of rain the traffic is flowing again, the damage made by the rain, winds, floods and mudslides are being repaired by the government, people are being relocated to other homes, the dead have being buried and their grieving families and everyone is trying to move on. I would like to thank you for praying for those who have suffered in this tragedy. Let our hearts be broken for them. It is time to mourn with those who mourn.

Death in Rio – Brazil

We are facing difficult moments down here. Since Monday the rain haven’t stop. According to the authorities, 700 millimeters of rain have already fallen in Rio’s metro area, three times the amount of rain expected for the entire month of April. Rio’s mayor said that the city is not prepared to deal with a storm of those proportions. He recommended that the population stay in safe places and do not try to go to work or any other place. Banks and most of the stores are closed.
The region has been wracked by several other mudslides previously this week that had pushed the death toll to 150 plus another 200 people were buried by the mud today. The fire department is still trying to find the bodies and they expect this numbers to spike sharply due the other 3 dangerous spots that according the authorities are close to mud slide. Many people refuse to leave their houses because they have no place to go and the city is in such chaos that it has no shelter or any public service to direct them to.
One of the pastors, friend of ours, opened his church to a family that lost their home. Many people started to go there looking for shelter, a blanked and a hot meal as their homes were washed away by the flood. Now he has over 130 people there in need of help. One aunt of ours is helping the pastor to get donations of food, mattress and clothes for the victims. One of my cousins lost her car on the flood on Monday night, another member of our family lost most of his furniture and so on. Our grandmother’s kitchen and front yard was flooded with 10 inches of rain water.
We are very happy to say that we are fine and had just some problems in our roof which allowed some rain to get in that damaged all the walls on the right side of the house destroying the painting work but nothing compare to what people close to us have been facing.
Please be praying for us, for our neighborhood and for Rio de Janeiro city. It’s been crazy down here and until now while I am typing this e-mail up the rain still falling.

Please remember to pray for us, for our family, for our house and specially for those who have lost everything in this time of crisis.

God is good!

God is good. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed towards Fernando’s life. All the offerings have come through and we have enough for his apartment rent and even will have some money left to help him with food, bills, etc. Thank you for helping us change this young man’s life.
I’d like to thank pastor Harold Oberschlake from Open Heaven ministries for helping us receive the offerings and for helping everyone with their tax deductions. A special thanks also to those who have prayed for we know the power of prayer. To get this young man to live a christlife like was and still is a spiritual battle as well as an emotional one, so, please keep him in your prayers. We want to go find a house to rent for him as soon as possible.

This young man with me on the picture above is Fernando Arcanjo. When Dani and I first met him, Fernando was dressed like a woman, had long blond hair, was wearing a tiny mini skirt and high heels. Fernando told us he had been prostituting himself for money since he was 12. When we laid hands on him he manifested the demons that were ruling over his life, we had a delivery time with him. He repeated the sinners prayer after us and he gave his heart to Jesus.

Fernando lives in a city 2 to 3 hours drive from where we live. I felt in my heart the desire to continue to pastor Fernando but, our home now only has one bedroom. We can not host him here. We need to rent him an apartment. But Fernando has no training nor skills in any area since he was prostituting himself since he was 14. We helped him finish a course on hotelier but he has no experience so, it’s been difficult getting him a job.

Fernando, ex transvestite, needs your help

This young man with me on the picture above is Fernando Arcanjo. His last name means Archangel. But Fernando was far from being an angel when Dani and I first met him, Fernando was dressed like a woman, had long blond hair, was wearing a tiny mini skirt and high heels. He looked totally like a woman, in fact, it took me a while to believe he was a man. As we talket to him about the love of God he said he wished he could turn away from his life of prostitution and turn to God but, he felt that he couldn’t be forgiven. We shared thd Gospel with him and he started to cry. Fernando told us that he had been a passive homosexual since he was 6 years old(when he was abused by his neighbor for the first time). When he was 12 he started dressing like a girl and prostituting himself for money.

We told him about God’s unconditional love for him and we prayed for him. When we laid hands on him he manifested the demons that were ruling over his life, we had a delivery time with him. We then asked him if he wanted to give his life to the Lord. With his eyes in tears he said “yes”, then, he repeated the sinners prayer after us and he gave his heart to Jesus. Right after he finished praying he looked at himself and said, “I don’t want to look like this anymore, I want to look like a man.” Dani and I took him to a cloth store and bought him some men clothing for he didnt have any, not in his house, not anywhere.

We knew how serious his case was and we didn’t want to run the risk of having the devil steal the seed we had planted in his heart, so, being crazy like we are, we took him to live with us! Fernando lived with us for 40 days straight. Then, little by little he started going back home. I remember when we took him back to his house for the first time, dressed and talking like a man, his mother, two brothers and one sister didn’t recognize him at first. It took them a while to realize it was really him. His mother covered her mouth and cried, then hugged him, squeezed him so tight we thought she would brake him in half. His mother, two brothers and his sister were not christian. I shared with them that it was the Lord Jesus who transformed Fernando’s life and He wanted to transform their lives to. That afternoon his whole family was saved. A few weeks later, all of them, including Fernando, were baptized. His mother passed away less than a year later, due to a heart condition she had. But fortunately, she went in peace to the Heavenly Father’s arms. His brothers and sisters are still serving the Lord. All the honor and all the glory be given to our Lord Jesus!

Dani and I had to move away from the city where we met Fernando to live in a city 2 hours drive from him. He is attending a church there but he is not being fathered nor mentored as he needs to be and we are worried about him.

I felt in my heart the desire to continue to pastor Fernando but, our home now only has one bedroom. We can not host him here. We need to rent him an apartment. - We want to help him go to College and have a real profession.

- And ultimately we want to help him find out and live the destiny he has in God!

The very first step is to get Fernando living near us, so, we need the apartment. A one bedroom apartment around here where we live is costing about 300 US dollars per month, 3600 per year. We need to find partners to help us rent an apartment for Fernando so that we can accomplish our goals for him.
